Privacy Policy
Effective 11 June 2026
Draft — pending legal review. This is starter content provided to establish the page. It is not yet legal advice and should be reviewed and finalised by qualified counsel before launch.
SmartNoma ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Neural Operations for Modern Agriculture Inc. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data transparently, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 (NDPA) and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).
This policy explains what we collect, why, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have.
Who we are
Neural Operations for Modern Agriculture Inc. (SmartNoma), Kaduna, Nigeria. For any privacy question or request, contact us at hello@smartnoma.com.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you use our contact form or the "Your Farming Future" tool and request a report or join a waitlist, we collect the details you submit — typically your name, email address, organisation, role, and the scenario inputs you provide (such as crop, farm size, and programme details).
Information collected automatically. We use a single first-party, anonymous cookie (sn_sid) to understand how the "Your Farming Future" tool is used — which steps people reach. It does not contain your name, email, or any personal identifier, and we do not use it to track you across other websites. We also store a small sn_cookie_ack cookie to remember that you have seen our cookie notice. Standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) may be recorded by our hosting provider for security and reliability.
We do not currently use third-party advertising or analytics trackers. If that changes, we will update this policy and our cookie notice.
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiries and send you the report or information you requested.
- To send you communications related to the journey you started (for example, a relevant nurture sequence), from which you can unsubscribe at any time.
- To operate, secure, and improve our website and tools.
Lawful basis
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent (which you give by submitting a form or subscribing) and our legitimate interest in operating and improving our services. You can withdraw consent at any time (see "Your rights").
How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us operate — for example, our email delivery provider and our hosting infrastructure — and only to the extent needed to provide the service. These providers process data on our instructions. Some providers may be located outside Nigeria; where that is the case, we take steps to ensure your data remains protected.
Data retention
We keep your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described here or as required by law, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Under the NDPA you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate data;
- request deletion of your data;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent at any time; and
- lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@smartnoma.com.
Cookies
The cookies we set are described under "What we collect" above. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; doing so will not stop you from using the site, though some usage measurement will not be recorded.
Data security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. Form submissions are transmitted over encrypted connections, and access to lead data is restricted.
Children
Our services are intended for adults and organisations; we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
